Do ap­p­li­cants who have not been so­cia­li­zed in the German uni­ver­si­ty system have the same op­por­tu­nities or are there struc­tu­ral bar­ri­ers (e.g. lan­guage, the need for German do­cu­ments, a lack of trans­pa­ren­cy con­cer­ning re­qui­red qua­li­fi­ca­ti­ons)?

What cri­te­ria do we use to assess the can­di­da­tes? E.g. do they include patents and spin-offs?

Are we in a po­si­ti­on to assess pro­per­ly the career paths, per­for­mance re­qui­re­ments, in­sti­tu­tio­nal re­pu­ta­ti­on, and funding logic of the can­di­da­tes’ coun­tries of origin?

And what spe­ci­fic cri­te­ria do we give the peer re­view­ers to help them produce their reports?

Can we make offers that are at­trac­tive to in­ter­na­tio­nal can­di­da­tes (e.g. fa­ci­li­ties, career pro­s­pec­ts, lan­guage re­qui­re­ments, dual-career options, go­ver­nan­ce)?

What funding can we apply for to support the ap­point­ment?

Are the new re­cruits able to proceed im­me­dia­te­ly with their high-level re­se­arch at their new uni­ver­si­ty just like their German-speaking peers?
